Product Overview & Technical Data
Product Overview
wood grain aluminium profile is produced on a dedicated transfer line with a single-length vacuum oven, giving a timber appearance on an aluminium extrusion that needs no staining, sealing or periodic refinishing.
Wood-grain transfer is a real process, not a printed film, and the distinction is worth understanding because the two are often sold as the same thing. The profile is first powder-coated in a base colour, then a grain-pattern transfer film is drawn tight around the whole section in a vacuum and heated, which drives the pattern into the cured powder layer. The result is a grain that follows the full three-dimensional geometry of the extrusion, including inside grooves and around returns, rather than stopping at the edges the way an applied laminate does. Because the pattern lives in the coating rather than on top of it, it does not peel or lift at an edge.
The equipment matters here. The transfer runs on a single-length vacuum oven, which means the profile is processed in one full length rather than in sections – so there is no join in the pattern along the bar. On a long window frame or a fascia run that is the difference between a convincing timber appearance and an obviously artificial one. This is one of the seven in-house finish series alongside anodising, powder coating, fluorocarbon (PVDF) coating, electrophoretic lacquer and decorative finishes.
The practical case for it is maintenance. Timber joinery in a facade needs sealing or staining on a cycle of a few years, and that cycle is the single largest whole-life cost of a timber window. A wood-grain aluminium profile has the appearance and none of the cycle: no rot, no movement with humidity, no insect attack, no refinishing. For conservation-area glazing, hospitality interiors and residential frames that have to match interior joinery, that trade is usually decisive.

What we can change for your project – and what we cannot
Material and Grade
Sections are extruded in 6063-T5, 6005-T5 or 6061-T6 depending on the load path – the lighter architectural members in 6063-T5, load-carrying members in 6005-T5, and the highest-stress components in 6061-T6. Billet is sourced from major domestic smelters with per-heat spectrometer verification, and ageing is controlled in gas-fired double-door ovens.
Surface Finish
Anodising, powder coating, fluorocarbon (PVDF) coating, electrophoretic lacquer and wood-grain heat transfer are all available, all in-house, all ahead of a chromium-free pre-treatment stage. Because extrusion, crimping and coating happen on one site, a mixed-finish order for a single project stays on one production schedule instead of being split across subcontractors.
Custom Tooling
Bespoke tooling is part of the offer, not an exception to it. Die design uses simulation analysis and virtual manufacturing, dies are cut on site and hardened in a vacuum nitriding furnace, and customers’ own drawings are accepted directly. Existing dies in the 5,000-plus item library can also be adapted for a project-specific variant.
Made-to-Order Sizing
Everything that can reasonably be varied is varied to order – cut length, wall thickness within the section’s design envelope, finish colour and bundle size. A length schedule supplied with the order is cut to as issued, so material arrives ready to fabricate.
Factory and Export Capability
Shipping is handled by the factory itself, which holds a direct export licence for aluminium and aluminium products. The plant runs 375 staff including 45 technical personnel across three in-house laboratories. Packing for export uses protective film, moisture barrier, foam interleaving and timber crating, with FOB, CIF and DDP all available.
Production and Finishing
Extrusion in the confirmed alloy and temper, then anodising, powder coating, PVDF, electrophoresis or wood-grain transfer to the approved colour sample.
Applications
Humid and coastal locations
No moisture movement, rot or insect attack, unlike the timber it replaces.
Where this profile is specified
The configuration of Where this profile is specified is selected against the operating conditions, installation interfaces and destination-market requirements. Include the intended use and site constraints in the RFQ.
Timber-appearance window frames
The look of joinery on a frame that never needs staining or sealing.
Conservation and heritage glazing
Meets a timber-appearance planning condition using an aluminium system.
Hospitality and resort interiors
Warm timber finish on frames, screens and trims in high-traffic spaces.
Residential interior matching
Frames matched to flooring and joinery, which is why the 135 child-safety window offers multiple grains.
Facade fascias and louvres
Single-length transfer means no pattern join along a long run.
Quality Control & Inspection
Inspection for Wood-Grain Heat-Transfer Aluminium Profile can cover the approved specification, appearance, dimensions and agreed performance checks. Factory or third-party inspection criteria must be confirmed before the order.
Packing & Delivery
Enquiry and Drawing
Send the section drawing, a sample, or the opening schedule and performance target. Our engineers confirm which series fits and say so plainly if a different one fits better.
Tooling and Sample
Where a bespoke section is needed the die is designed with simulation analysis, cut and nitrided in house, and a sample length is produced for approval.
Export Packing and Shipping
Protective film, moisture barrier, foam interleaving and timber crating, on FOB / CIF / DDP terms with container loading supervised in house.
