Product Overview & Technical Data

Product Overview

bipv aluminium framing for building-integrated photovoltaic modules installed as curtain-wall elements, supported in component (stick) type across the 50 / 55 / 60 / 65 / 70 / 75 / 80 / 90 / 100 size ladder and in unitised type, with fully exposed, semi-concealed and fully concealed frame styles.

A BIPV module is two things at once – a piece of the building envelope and a piece of electrical plant – and the frame has to satisfy both. As facade it must carry wind load, keep water out, accommodate thermal movement and meet the same deflection limits as any other curtain-wall panel. As electrical equipment it must allow cable routing, junction-box access and module replacement without dismantling the surrounding elevation. That second set of requirements is what distinguishes a BIPV frame from an ordinary glazing frame, and it is why this bipv aluminium framing is engineered per project rather than picked from a catalogue. Every certified bipv aluminium framing layout ensures seamless electrical integration and structural safety.

Both curtain-wall constructions are supported. Component (stick) type is erected member by member on site across the 50 to 100 mm size ladder, and suits refurbishment and irregular geometry. Unitised type uses factory-assembled units with a high standard of prefabrication and a large saving in site time – the right choice on a tall building where facade access is the critical path. Frame style can be fully exposed, semi-concealed (one axis expressed, the other hidden) or fully concealed, depending on whether the module grid should be legible or the elevation should read as a continuous surface. Additional custom-engineered bipv aluminium framing options are available for specialized architectural geometries.

Section depth and profile geometry are set by the module dimensions and the design wind load, so no fixed catalogue section is quoted here. Send the module datasheet – dimensions, weight, frame or frameless, junction box position – together with the wind pressure and the support spacing, and the framing is designed to it. Publishing a section depth without the design loads is a guess, and a curtain wall is not where guesses belong.

FEATURE 01

Drawing or Sample In

Send a section drawing, a physical sample, or simply the opening schedule and the performance you need to hit. Our engineers come back with the series that fits – including when that is a different series from the one you asked about.

FEATURE 02

Die and First Article

If no existing die suits, a new one is designed with metal-flow simulation, machined and vacuum-nitrided on site, and a sample length is extruded for your approval before the run is scheduled.

Technical Data & Specification Review

Published parameters are reference configurations for this series. Final values are subject to approved drawings, manufacturer technical documents, samples and project inspection records.

Application framing for building-integrated photovoltaic modules installed as a curtain-wall element
Curtain-wall types supported component (stick) type in the 50 / 55 / 60 / 65 / 70 / 75 / 80 / 90 / 100 size ladder, and unitised type
Frame styles fully exposed, semi-concealed and fully concealed frame
Note section depth and profile geometry are set by the module dimensions and the wind load, so the frame is engineered per project rather than supplied from a fixed catalogue section
Temper and grade 6063-T5 for standard sections · 6005-T5 where load rating governs · 6061-T6 for the heaviest duty
Finish routes Anodised · powder-coated · PVDF fluorocarbon · electrophoretic · wood-grain transfer, all produced on site
Bespoke sections Die cut to your drawing or sample; existing dies modified where the geometry is close
Order-specific dimensions Cut length, wall thickness inside the design envelope, colour to approved sample, bundle quantity
Manufacturing and shipping 50,000 t/year partner manufacturing base, 100,000 t+ group-wide; direct export licence; supervised container loading

Dimensional and performance figures are taken from the manufacturing partner’s own product catalogue. Mill certificates, spectrometer analysis reports and coating thickness records are issued with each shipment.

What we can change for your project – and what we cannot

Material and Grade

Extrusion is to 6063-T5 for the standard architectural sections, 6005-T5 where a higher mechanical rating is called for in a structural member, and 6061-T6 for the heavily loaded components. Billet is drawn from major domestic producers and every heat is checked on a direct-reading spectrometer before it goes to the press, so the certificate that ships with the order reflects the metal in the box rather than a nominal grade.

Surface Finish

Seven finish routes run in-house: anodising, powder coating on a vertical spray line, fluorocarbon (PVDF) coating, electrophoretic lacquer, wood-grain heat transfer, thermal-break strip crimping and decorative finishes. Pre-treatment is chromium-free chemistry from an approved partner manufacturer, and the electrostatic powder is first-tier – supplied by an approved partner manufacturer – which is what makes a long colour warranty defensible rather than aspirational.

Custom Tooling

A section that does not exist yet is a normal request here. Die design, simulation analysis, die cutting and vacuum nitriding are all done on site, so a drawing or a physical sample can be turned into a production die without going outside the factory. Where the requirement is a variant of something already in the 5,000-item range, modifying the existing die is faster and costs less than cutting new steel – and we will say which route applies before you commit.

Made-to-Order Sizing

Made to order means made to your figures – cut length, wall thickness inside the section’s design envelope, finish colour and bundle quantity. Supplying the cutting list with the order costs nothing and saves both the offcut waste and the saw time at the other end.

Factory and Export Capability

Export is direct: the approved partner manufacturer carries its own licence for aluminium and aluminium products and loads its own containers under supervision, full-container or consolidated. Capacity behind that is 50,000 tonnes a year at the 100-mu partner manufacturing base and more than 100,000 tonnes across the group. Profiles ship with protective film, moisture-barrier wrapping, foam interleaving and timber crates, on FOB, CIF or DDP terms.

Extrude, Then Finish

The confirmed alloy and temper go through the press, then through whichever finish was agreed – anodising, powder, PVDF, electrophoresis or wood-grain transfer – matched to the approved colour panel.

Packed for the Voyage

Protective film, moisture-barrier wrap, foam between profiles and timber crates, loaded into the container under our own supervision, on FOB, CIF or DDP terms.
